Paul gave a talk and Alan presented a poster which  won the poster award in the SCS the 2nd International Symposium on Combinatorial sciences in Biology, Chemistry, catalyst and Material at Beijing, China Sep. 19-23, 2009.

Paul and Thiwanka gave talks and Toby gave a poster on ACS National Meeting in Washington, DC Aug. 16-20, 2009

Paul gave a talk and Chris Thomas present a poster  in the  ISOM the 18th International Symposium on Olefin Metathesis and related chemistry at Leipzing, Germany, Aug. 2-7, 2009

Paul, Alan, Thiwanka, Toby, and Kyu OK participate in the  Gordon Research Conference on Combinatorial Chemistry at Colby-Sawyer College, NH June 6-12, 2009

3 members of the group will be presenting at the CMLD meeting in Pittsburgh Aug. 13-15, 2006

6 Members of the Hanson Group presented posters at the Fall HBC Center of Excellence meeting.

11 Members of the Hanson Group presented posters/talks at the 39th Midwest Regional Meeting in Manhattan, Kansas.

ACS National Meeting in Anaheim, CA.  Alan, Steve, Punitha, and Paul will be presenting posters or giving lectures at this meeting.

PRH will be speaking at the Gordon Research Conferences on stereochemistry. June 20-25 in Salva Regina, RI.

Recent Awards

Andrew M. Harned received the 2003-2004 Frank B. Dains Scholarship in Organic Chemistry for superior academic performance and research accomplishments by and advance doctoral student.

Stephen Sieck recieved the 2003-2004 Ray Q. Brewster Award for excellence in teaching for an advanced graduate student.

James McParland received the 2003-2004 Frank B. Dains Award for outstanding first-year teaching and the H.P. Cady Scholarship for performance for a first-year graduate student. 

Andy Harned received the 2002-2003 ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Graduate Fellowship.

Other Group News

Toby Long paid 150 dollars extra for a black mac instead of the white. Alan Rolfe is planning on buying mac.

Paul has been named Acquisitions Editor for Chemtracts.
